Dear {{FirstName or 'Friend'}}, |
What do the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr, the Grateful Dead, and the Black Panthers all have in common? They have all taken the stage at the historic Henry J. Kaiser Center overlooking Oakland’s iconic Lake Merritt.
This is also the location where we’ll be holding our going to-sell-out O&B 24 conference on April 25-27. |
O&B24 will be the inaugural conference held at the newly re-opened HJK Arts Center after a lengthy renovation. We are thrilled to bring our first in-person, US-based conference in 5 years to this historic venue where Maya Angelou also once spoke.
The O&B Conference will feature an expansive indoor-outdoor campus that weaves in between the Kaiser Center and its neighbor, the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA). This classic Oakland institution, and a proud partner of our 2024 conference, will be a place for conference-goers to enjoy OMCA’s extensive outdoor gardens and fantastic exhibits and galleries. |
Another new feature of this year’s conference will be the transformation of the Kaiser Center’s large Arena (think basketball court) into our Conference Commons. The Commons will feature interactive art installations, our popular conference book table and author signings, belonging merchandise, a lounge for connecting, and a brand new Belonging in Action Poster Gallery, co-created by you! Belonging in Action Poster Gallery: Submissions Now Being Accepted |
Are you a belonging researcher, artist, or builder with powerful research, art or a case study to share? Can you make your work visual and poster-sized?
We are looking for powerful stories to display during the conference. Over 1,800 people from every sector and from across the globe will get inspiration from how you put belonging in action. Learn about our poster gallery guidelines and process here. Entries that are consistent with our guidelines but not selected for the conference will go on a virtual poster display on our website.
Each poster should have a title and some explanatory text. Other than that we are looking for creative ideas to display. Every poster will include a QR code with a link to the poster on our website.
Please email any poster-related questions to Charlotte O'Keefe Stralka (charlotte.okeefe@berkeley.edu). |
I can’t wait to see you in Oakland,
Rachelle Galloway-Popotas Conference Director
