Dear {{FirstName or 'friend'}}, I am excited to tell you about a new space at this year's Othering & Belonging Conference on April 25-27 in Oakland. We'
ll be transforming a huge arena inside the HJK Arts Center (where the likes of Maya Angelou, James Brown, and the Grateful Dead have all taken the stage) into our conference Commons. The Commons will feature a
Belonging in Action Poster Showcase (submissions still open!), and community-engaged artist installations and offerings. Those will include installations from Christine Wong Yap, Brett Cook, Favianna Rodriguez, the Center for Cultural Power, and Burcu Kolelil, among many others who we'll continue to announce.
|
The Commons will also feature: a DIY arts-and-crafts section; a Belonging Bazaar with unique merch; our popular conference bookstore hosted by an independent Bay Area bookseller with author signings throughout the conference; movement offerings, including meditation from Michelle Ayazi, to tai chi; and other dynamic programming currently being added.
