“We have to learn how to work together. We have to learn to turn toward each other. Breaking is about turning on each other, bridging is about turning toward each other." -john a. powell Dear Community,
Fall is here, and spooky season is right around the corner, so it is a perfect time to revisit our core concepts: belonging, bridging, and othering. You all understand that the arts (illustrations, music, podcast, dancing, literature, etc.) are essential in changing the culture and expanding who gets to be defined as "we." OBI's goal is to have larger "we's" and this is possible through shared language and context. If you haven't already, check out the Bridging to Belonging podcast episode on Developing A Shared Vocabulary.
