OBI's Democracy & Belonging Forum has teamed up with Fine Acts to produce a collection of powerful visual artworks on the topic of bridging & Belonging for reuse by NGOs and justice campaigners globally.

In addition to commissioning 40+ artists in Europe and the US to produce works relevant to this topic, we are opening a call for artworks that further explore conceptualizations around bridging & belonging. Submit your work by Aug. 16! Learn more here.

Replay: The Dangers of Gene Editing in Assisted Reproduction

Gene editing technology like CRISPR may have potential to treat diseases, but does editing future generations go too far? In this livestream that took place yesterday, we heard renowned bioethicist Françoise Baylis, reproductive justice activist Nourbese Flint, and disability rights scholar and activist Karen Nakamura discuss the serious societal and ethical implications of human gene editing in the context of assisted reproductive technology. Last month we announced the #OurSolidarity campaign which we're leading with the many racial justice heroes in the Solidarity Council on Racial Equity (SCoRE) and others who are committed to honoring the humanity in all of us. By taking the #OurSolidarity Pledge we are committing to making solidarity an active part of our daily lives, not just something we do when a shocking event occurs or when we're taken by surprise. The pledge states:

Through actions big and small, I will commit to acts of solidarity that build a future where we all belong.
